Hi, I'm Kevin Baharvand, and I’d like to share a special story with you from my book, Daddy on Duty. It’s about my son’s first soccer game—an experience that taught me as much about parenting as it did about sports.

During that game, Luca struggled, got distracted, and even lost interest at one point. I found myself on the sidelines, caught between wanting him to “win” and realizing that it wasn’t about winning at all. Instead, it was about showing up, learning, and having fun. That moment made me reflect on my role not just as a coach on the sidelines, but as a father who’s there to support him no matter the outcome.
